Great stay and Kili climb We were referred to Abraham and House of West Kili by a long-time friend. So glad this worked out. The stay at HoWK was very good in and of itself. We loved the team. It was a little sanctuary before and after the climb that Abraham helped arrange. We had an EXCELLENT trip. We also went to a local school to see how we could help. I am happy to be contacted for any questions.

Home once again We just returned from Tanzania and our third stay at the House of West Kili. It felt like we were coming home to family. We enjoyed the home made fresh food, atmosphere and hospitality. We are always made to feel welcome and enjoy the countryside atmosphere of House of West Kili and the town of Lawate. Speak with the owner Abraham and he can help you arrange the perfect mix of safari, culture, climbing or whatever you are looking for. You will be taken care of here, the staff is warm and welcoming, the rooms are large and inviting, the grounds are beautiful.

Comfortable, Clean, and Friendly Just stayed three nights at the House of West Kili Lodge and was very happy with our accommodations. Room was spacious with ten foot ceilings and clean, food, including homemade soup nightly for dinner, was delicious and ready on-time. Staff is friendly and owner, Abraham, did everything he could to make our stay comfortable. He succeeded. Highly recommend staying here and will be back the next time I'm in Siha. Easy 30 minute drive from Kili (JRO) airport.

Another Lodge Yes, another lodge, expensive for not much. Staff very good. I had only 2 meals which were expensive so walked to the nearby village to eat and drink during my 6 night stay. i must admit l am not a tourist but a volunteer advisor. Wifi was off more than on. hot water was not always available. The room was very hot when l returned in the mid afternoon, so l asked if l could have a fan. 3 days later the manager brought the upper part of a free standing fan, which of course was completely useless. Why ceiling fans had not been installed when constructing the rooms. On the positive side, the room and bathroom where very large.

Incredibly Friendly Staff! Beautiful grounds, friendly people, good food and very nice accommodations! Abraham picked us up at the airport, in fact arriving an hour early, and transported us to his lodge. When we arrived late in the evening we were offered food. The accommodations are quite lovely with large rooms and the grounds are beautiful. My cousin and I stayed there before our organized tour.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway My wife and I are volunteering in a village not far from the House of West Kili Lodge. This was the perfect location for a short getaway weekend for us. The grounds are lovely, the rooms and bathrooms large and the food delicious and ample. And the staff was friendly and attentive. We could not have asked for a better spot for the weekend. Abraham checked in several times during the weekend and was a wealth of information about the area! We would definitely recommend the House of West Kili Lodge.

Our first couple of nights in Tanzania We were on a Road Scholar tour and after being picked up at the airport we were transferred to House of West Kili for a couple of nights stay. As other reviewers have stated Abraham and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. On our first full day we were treated to a long walk with Abraham and Salim (Our Safari Group Leader). Abraham knows EVERYONE, and we met many local men and women going about their daily routine. As we were walking up the road we passed by a public primary school and the children were out playing (recess??) They ran to the road to see the Wazungu (or white people). Abraham asked if we would like to visit. We got to see the classrooms, meet the headmaster and teachers and so many children. The staff does so much and tries so hard with so little. 248 children and 5 teachers. The headmaster brought a globe out to show the kids how far we had come. They sang songs (in English) about how thankful they were for their teachers. Was very enjoyable. Had lunch with a local woman and back to House of West Kili. We had mentioned that our hot water did not work and while we were gone it was fixed. Mentioned that our transformer (for electric toothbrush) did not work in the bathroom outlet and there was a powerstrip in our room. Mentioned a little warm and a fan appears. The slightest thing that they could do to make your stay more pleasant just seemed to happen as if by magic! Would totally stay there again. It was a great start to our Safari.

Totally AMAZING!! It is my Tanzanian home! All I can say is the House of Westkili is NOT to be missed! From the moment I arrived at the airport until the moment I left on safari, four days later, I felt as if I were at home with family. Abraham picked me up at the airport for the 30 minute drive to the lodge. He was kind, gracious, helpful and very enthusiastic about the lodge, safaris and his country. When I arrived at the lodge, I was greeted by Simon, Rehema and Mr. Massawe. They were so welcoming and hospitable. My room was large and decorated very simply but most lovely. After a long flight it was wonderful to get into the HUGE shower and take a nice HOT one. The bed was VERY comfortable and had ample cover on it. It was lovely to sleep with all of the windows open and have the fresh air come in to the room. The next morning a wonderful breakfast awaited me. I can't say enough about the chef, Mr. Urassa, his helper, Mama Salama and Rehema. The food at every meal was just delicious. The presentation was lovely, the amount ample and the service impeccable. Abraham took me on a drive up to Mt. Kilimanjaro and on a private safari to Arusha National Park. He has such a passion for what he does. He's very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to ensure I had a fabulous experience. The rest of the staff, Marry, Makere, Jennifer, Stell and Mr. Daniel were all so cordial and made me feel right at home. I miss every one there terribly. I feel as if I have new friends for life!! I am already thinking about my next trip to Tanzania. I'm not sure when it will be but I guarantee you, the House of Westkili will be a huge part of it. I can't say enough good things about it.
